your calling is our mission.

At Lifeway, we equip people of all ages and backgrounds for the most important mission in the world: making disciples of Jesus Christ. Whether you’re a maker or storyteller, data guru or problem-solver, or anywhere in between, if you’re passionate about equipping the church, we have a place for you.

what's in a name?

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.”

John 14:6 CSB

At Lifeway, we create resources, events, and experiences to serve churches and help people live life in pursuit of Jesus Christ.

for the church since 1891

Dr. James M. Frost, Lifeway's first president, had a desk, a corner of a newspaper office, and a little money he borrowed from his wife's estate. More importantly, he had a vision for an organization that would help churches teach God's Word, develop leaders, and impact the culture. He put these together to begin what is known today as Lifeway.

Today, Lifeway’s ministries reach across the United States and around the world through millions of Christian products used in more than 160 countries. What started with Dr. Frost’s vision has resulted in millions of changed lives.

The Sunday School Board (now Lifeway) launched with Dr. James Frost at the helm. The first Sunday School periodical, Kind Words, arrived at churches in 1892.

our mission

We exist to honor God and serve churches by designing trustworthy experiences that fuel ministry.

we strive first to honor God
This applies to our work and our personal lives. Faith is not just a prerequisite for our work; it is the reason we do the work.

we serve churches
Because the church is God’s vessel for sharing His gospel, we’re committed to supporting the church in our work and in our own church communities.

design is more than visual
From new products to camps and events, from online tools to our phone calls with customers, we ensure that every touch point is designed to solve specific needs for our customers as they do the work of the church.

trustworthiness begins with God’s Word
We root everything we do in the truth of Scripture. Our love of God’s Word is evident in the way we serve and support churches as they make disciples.

experience is everything
Our brand exists in the lives, minds, and experiences of the people we serve, and we strive to delight them with every impression.

resources fuel ministry
Everything we do is done with a ministry purpose in mind and created by people who strive to be faithful, joyful, down to earth, and by your side

we work for transformation
We're guided by five values. These shared convictions drive us to make consistent decisions, and inspire us to act—or choose when not to act.

1

treasure biblical truth

2

care about character

3

be better together

how we will do it:

We are committed to the health and ministry of the church as we work to multiply our impact, create resources that add value to the church, and foster a culture that nurtures our best work.

multiply

We are primarily focused on the church leader and disciple-maker, multiplying our capabilities around what we do best, and investing in becoming a true partner that is known and trusted in their ministry work.

value

We are passionate about listening to the customer so we offer value and stay relevant. We continually strive to make our resources and experiences easy to use by ensuring we get the basics right before moving into other areas.

culture

We cultivate a culture where every person is equally valued as an important kingdom worker. We invest in an employee experience of engagement, respect, ministry passion, community, belonging, and the opportunity to develop spiritual and professional gifts.

for the church, by the church.

Behind every support specialist, Bible study editor, graphic designer, and accountant is a Sunday School teacher, kids volunteer, or small group leader. And we’re all in it for the same reason—to fuel the church’s mission of making disciples. Because it’s our mission, too.
